Salado United Methodist Church offers six different ways to directly assist others within our congregation. Each service opportunity below will take place on a rotational basis over a designated period of time. More information will be provided upon sign-up.
Welcoming Shepherds
Visitors and New Members
Contact new members and visitors via phone calls, emails, texts, social media, notes, personal visits, etc. Get to know your designated visitors/members and encourage them in their attendance of worship services, Sunday school, small groups, special studies, fellowship meals, and other church activities. Answer questions about SUMC and help direct those interested to worship, study, fellowship, and service opportunities. Our mission is to help people feel welcome and connected at SUMC. Sign-up today!
Congregational Care Shepherds
Food for Bereavement/Crisis
Provide food on a rotating basis for funerals or families experiencing death and other crisis times as deemed necessary. Sign-up today!
Grief Support/Stephen Ministry
Provide support through communication, support material, and visits, etc. for those experiencing crisis or loss. Special training is required to be a Stephen Minister. More information will be available through the office. Sign-up today!
Milestone Ministry
Provide appropriate greeting for the milestone (i.e. congratulations, encouragement, sympathy, etc.). Send cards or other forms of communication to those who have been absent from church recently. Sign-up today!
Visitation Shepherds
Hospital Visitation
In coordination with the church office provide hospital visits on a rotating basis as a representative of Salado United Methodist Church. Sign-up today!
Homebound and Care Center Ministry
In coordination with the church office provide communication, communion, visits, etc. on a rotating basis for those who are not able to attend church or those in a care center as a representative of Salado United Methodist Church. Sign-up today!
