Children's Ministry

  • All children are invited to join us for Children's Sunday school! Current 2-3 year olds will have Sunday school in the nursery, preK - 2nd grade students will be in room 121 and 3rd-6th grade will be in room 122. Sunday school is offered every Sunday from 10-11:00 a.m.
  • Children’s Church is available during the 9:00 service for children ages 4 to 2nd grade. After the children’s sermon in the 9:00 service, the children can walk with the teachers to room 121 for worship, activities, bible lessons and fun.
  • M&M Kids: Children entering Kindergarten-6th grade are welcome to join us on Wednesday nights from 6-7 p.m. in room 117. M&M Kids is full of learning about God through the Bible, fun activities and crafts, and service projects!
  • And finally, a prayer ground is available during both worship services. This will be a quiet space for children ages 2-4 and their families to use. It will be equipped with quiet children's toys and activities.  Parents will sit near the prayer ground to monitor their children and pick up and put away toys and supplies used during the service.

Childcare is also available for children 4 and younger Sunday mornings.

and worship times.

Ministry Safe

SUMC adopted a Safe Sanctuaries Policy in 2011, and transitioned to a Ministry Safe policy in 2015. The purpose of this policy is to make our church a safe place for children to be, and for members and visitors to feel that children are safe when they are left in their Sunday School classes, nurseries, or at other events.

This policy serves to protect and inform volunteers who work with Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Adults.

This policy serves as a minimum standard to be upheld by staff and volunteers for all ministries and activities at SUMC. The Central Texas Conference requires that we provide adequate adult supervision at District and Conference Events and Ministries attended by Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Adults.
