Special Events

Halloween is a time for fun at SUMC with our Trunk or Treat. Volunteers hand candy out to all children in attendance. Food, games, bounce houses, spook houses, and many other activities can be found at this free family friendly event that is open to the community.

Easter Egg Hunt

SUMC hosts a community wide Easter Egg Hunt each year during the week before Easter. Hunts are divided by age, and each hunt as a few “grand” prizes!

There are bounce houses, games, hot dogs, and fun for the whole family.

The event is free and open to the public.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is a yearly event for ages 4 through incoming 6th grade, held each summer This week long experience teaches Bible stories and concepts though crafts and hands on experiments, games, mission projects, Bible stories, and worship times.

Ministry Safe

SUMC adopted a Safe Sanctuaries Policy in 2011, and transitioned to a Ministry Safe policy in 2015. The purpose of this policy is to make our church a safe place for children to be, and for members and visitors to feel that children are safe when they are left in their Sunday School classes, nurseries, or at other events.

This policy serves to protect and inform volunteers who work with Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Adults.

This policy serves as a minimum standard to be upheld by staff and volunteers for all ministries and activities at SUMC. The Central Texas Conference requires that we provide adequate adult supervision at District and Conference Events and Ministries attended by Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Adults.
